What Is This Blog About?
This blog is about food and food related things... I try to bring both traditional and non traditional recipes, or rather, my take on them, to you, the reader. Most of the foods that I do have somehow impacted my life in a good way, or is new to me and I am trying because I am wanting to fulfill foodie dreams of mine.
About the Author
My name is Kimmie, and I have been cooking for a long time. Let me make something clear: I went to culinary school, but due to some things getting in the way, I did not get to finish. I would have liked to! I cannot physically lift heavy stock pots anymore because of the car wreck that I was in during the first month of said school.
I am not an expert, I do not claim to be one. I have a good deal of knowledge and feel qualified enough to at least point out certain things to others, but this does not mean I am always right. Most of what I know is through trial and error! I do not claim my international dishes are the real thing. This is just a blog sharing part of my life through words about the foods I prepare and at least sample (so I can know how it tastes).
I am happy to share this part of my life with you, the reader, especially if it means I get to enrich yours even just a little bit!

Restrictions
If you have a recipe request and there is an ingredient or multiple ingredients that I cannot use due to food allergies or other types of restrictions, one of my lovely assistants will more than likely take over and write the blog post for the recipe in question and it will be published on their own time. I have a good chunk of food I cannot eat, unfortunately... But the show must go on!
Editors and Guest Writers
I have a lovely assistant named Becka. Becka has been one of my biggest supporters throughout the years. I will let Becka decide if she wants to be included in the front page or not... But know that she does help me and I go to her all the time with questions about things that she most likely can help me with, just as she comes to me about questions she is sure I can help her with.
I have a helper with reviews, too, Allen.
As far as guests writers go, you are more than welcome to write a post for this blog if you would like. Just let me know and I will be more than happy to get you set up!

Scheduling
I do not have a set schedule for posting. I have not yet come up with a system of when to plan out my meals as I was worried about getting at least a handful of blog posts up before I got to planning out, but I am thinking of at least once a week or bi-weekly posts because I cannot afford to make new recipes every day at this point. This will give me time to research for said posts, as well as to make sure I can afford certain things without taking away from our daily needs in order to do so. Reviews will not be on a set schedule, they come whenever I have something to review and will happen sporadically.
Reviews
I would rather keep the recipes separate from the reviews so both are easier to find, so the reviews have their own section. I do not want for my reviews to detract from the recipes, as not everyone is interested in knowing my feelings about a product or restaurant. My reviews are subject to change, as well, or be completely reposted at a later date if something changes that I like or don't like about something. I review both restaurants and products, some things provided to me by others, and I do NOT get paid for thoughts on anything. They are honest feelings about products/restaurants, they are not meant to be taken as insult by owners or makers, but rather constructive criticism. If a review happens to be done in passion, that is because I feel strongly about something and you should still take it in stride and use it to improve upon or see it for what it is. I will not remove any professional opinions and if I really feel strongly negative about something your establishment did that I don't or didn't like, your establishment name will remain unwritten in my work and I will contact you discreetly just one time and perhaps have a discussion with you on what you can do, in my OPINION, to change. And that is ONLY if you care about my opinion enough to ask me what I think you can do that would better your establishment.

Things You Need To Understand About My (bad) Reviews:
- If you dislike what I have to say, that is good and fine, but please keep it professional and respectful if you are going to tell me what you think. If you tell me that you have cooked for a longer time than me, then that would mean I should hold you to a higher standard, your experience does not give you an excuse to talk down to me, or practice in a way that can negatively affect the consumer directly.
- If I review your establishment/Product in a negative fashion, there is a reason for it. People have the right to know that things happen and what these things are.
- One big thing I do not tolerate is being mislead by a menu - I have food allergies, if you have a menu where you do not list what is in a dish, it makes it that much harder for me. It is just as much my responsibility to protect myself as it is YOUR responsibility to protect yourself. It would be to YOUR benefit to list ingredients directly in your menu. I also dislike being told a dish is one thing, only to find out that it isn't that one thing.
- I do my establishment reviews only on local businesses, I do not review chain restaurants that are established through the country or outside of the state.
Grocery Savings
I am going to be sharing with you my receipts every now and then (personal info blurred of course), tips and tricks on saving without having to cut coupons (Though you can do a lot with those, not everyone wants to commit to couponing!)
I love to be frugal and think sharing tips on what to look for and such would help my foodie family out. Becka is a big saver and I learned a lot from her, and my mother also taught me some things on what to look for.
